Celebrating ten years…
September 2011 will mark the tenth anniversary of my entry into the world of Art & Design. To celebrate, I have put together my first ‘proper’ portfolio. After those humble few years of having nothing of any merit to put into a portfolio, and the last few years of being too busy to create one, I have spent much of the cold winter of 2010/11 designing the 50-page book I am now awaiting delivery of. The book heavily profiles my work for Toyah, Stagecoach, megabus.com and Spark Response as well as highlighting work for more recent clients and those jobs I consider part of my development as a commercial designer. Happy (2nd week of the) New Year…
Well… it’s already the 2nd working week (and first full working week) of 2011. So far, we’ve been busy finishing off a number of projects that started last year as well as a few taken on in late December and early January. These include a number of internal communications projects for Stagecoach and Winter Sale materials for megabus.com. This week, we also kick off new website projects for Spark and Velvet, a new shoot with Saša Savić, artwork for the upcoming new album by The Humans and a number of digital music releases for Toyah (as well as an exciting 2011 tour identity)… and a whole lot more! I’ve also been working on a new portfolio book, collecting some of my work from my very first freelance commission in 2002 up to the here and now!
Here’s to a busy and fun-filled 2011…

Not long after finding a new physical home in their plush new offices on Wynyard Park, the new Velvet Communications website is now live. Freelance Illustrator Simon Howard, who forms part of the extended asdeisgnuk team, now has his own online portfolio at sghillustration.designbinder.com. Simon has worked on a number of my projects including the recent citylink gold brand launch, rejuvenation of megabus.com‘s ‘mascot’ Sid and the re-branding of UNIQUE Driving Tuition.
Velvet grows team and finds new home…
My client Velvet Communications has grown its team, taking on new PR executives as it grows its client base (which includes Spark Response, megabus.com and Stagecoach North East). Liz Eddy and the team have also moved into a brand new office at Wynyard Park, so congratulations and good luck Liz and the team!
